The EVCOM Clarion Awards celebrate cause-driven creativity and excellence across the creative communications sector. We call for film, events and campaigns that seek to make a difference, that have purpose at their core. We received so much brilliant work from across the industry, and pulled together a panel of industry leaders, experts and clients to judge it all. They had the very difficult task of choosing our winners.
And on the 4th July we gathered our shortlistees, judges and partners together to champion sustainability, announce our winners and celebrate, overlooking one of London’s most spectacular sights. Guests arrived at the London Stock Exchange where they were greeted with a drink and the chance to mingle. When everyone had arrived we directed them through into the state of the art theatre space. Our Executive Director Claire Fennelow and our host for the evening Neil Hudson-Basing opened the presentation. Neil then invited our panellists Jane Goodland (Group Head of Sustainability, London Stock Exchange Group, Debra Sobel (CEO and Co-Founder of Verity London), Dale Parmenter (Founder and CEO of DRPG) and Sam Wilson (Managing Director at Syntiro Associates) on to the stage, for a fascinating discussion about sustainability. They discussed B-Corp, purpose and the balance between client needs and reputational risk.
It was now time for the moment everyone had been waiting for. Neil spoke about the importance of each of the categories, before announcing who was walking away with a trophy. All of our award winners were invited on to the stage to collect their trophy and have their photo taken, and our category winners had their winning film played where applicable. It was great to see so many happy winners, and to showcase the work that most impressed our judges.
When the ceremony drew to a close we adjourned to the rooftop event space, where our guests enjoyed drinks and bowl food with a view over the spire of the iconic St. Pauls (despite the rain!). It was a great way to celebrate the amazing work that is being produced by our sector, and the difference that it is making in so many vital areas.
