The Delegate Wranglers has started a new campaign encouraging event professionals to attend the various industry trade shows over the next few months.
The Show Up campaign is aimed at urging eventprofs to show their support for the sector by attending one or more of the trade shows due to take place in September and October, such as The Meetings Show 2021 (30 Sept – 1 Oct), the London Christmas Party Show (7-9 Sept), EVENTIT Scotland 2021 (10 Sept), Confex (1-2 Sept) and CHS Birmingham 2021 (26 Oct).
Neil Thompson, founder and MD of Delegate Wranglers, said: “With the wheels of the industry finally beginning to turn again – we think it’s time for us all to do our bit now. And by that, we mean it’s now time for us to get involved and make sure we register to attend any (or all) of the various trade shows taking place over the next couple of months.
We should be chomping at the bit to go to a show! What a way to reconnect with all your contacts in one place. Think about meeting all the event profs you’ve not met so far – there’s been lots of changes and movement, so what a great time to meet everyone.
Just think of the buzz, the educational sessions, the knowledge, the drinks receptions, the laughs, the opportunities and much more. If you feel comfortable attending, get yourself registered and give yourself a pat on the back.”
The campaign uses the hashtag #ShowUp. Thompson added that the campaign is not meant in any way to criticize anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable or is not able to attend for any reason.
Writing on LinkedIn, he said: “We just want to use our voice to keep the positive momentum going – you know we think you all rock!”
We would like to echo this campaign when it comes to our own EVCOMference. Join us for a day of fantastic content from agency leaders and clients, and for the chance to reconnect with your peers and celebrate the return of the live events industry! We urge you to #showup for EVCOMference 21: Fit for the Future, and for the corporate film and events industries more widely! Tickets to EVCOMference are available here.
