Leigh Jagger, Interim CEO of EVCOM has today announced that the association plans to appoint a full-time Executive Director from January 2020. The creation of this new role will not only help EVCOM drive better engagement with their membership, but will also ensure they can be more proactive, tackle key industry issues and deliver real value to members.
Claire Fennelow, formerly leading the live events team at The Telegraph, joins the EVCOM team in January to take on this new, exciting role. Claire has a long history in the corporate events and awards world and has also worked for several not- for-profit associations. Claire has an excellent understanding of the film/screen/content side of the EVCOM membership too and has previously held senior roles at the D&AD and the Design Council so is the perfect candidate to take the association forward.
Claire Fennelow commented, “It’s a really exciting time to join EVCOM. I have always held the association in high regard and can’t wait to get my teeth into delivering some of the fabulous events and driving the initiatives that are in place for next year. It was great to get to know some of our members, and see their fabulous work at the recent London Live and London Film awards, and I look forward to getting to know more members in the New Year.”
Leigh Jagger said, “I joined EVCOM on a short-term basis specifically to support the board on the 2020 strategic plan and help shape the association to ensure we were better able to meet our members’ needs. Claire joining the team is a hugely positive step forward for the association as it puts us in the strongest position possible going forward into 2020 and beyond – Claire is very much at the heart of this plan.
EVCOM is very fortunate to have the support of an amazing industry board however I firmly believe that the association needs a full-time figurehead to drive key projects forward rather than part-time one and so allow us to focus on delivering on our growth plans and building the value we offer to our members. We already have such a full calendar of awards, events and campfires, the EMA collaboration and many other exciting member benefits planned in 2020. Having Claire at the helm full time will ensure that we can be proactive and focus on meeting our business and members objectives. I am personally looking forward to supporting Claire during the first quarter of the year of 2020 in an advisory capacity before leaving EVCOM in her very capable hands.”
