EVCOM, representing the UK’s leading event management, screen content and film agencies and the EMA (Event marketing Association), the UK network exclusively for the in-house corporate #EventProfs, today announced they plan to foster closer collaboration between their members in 2020 and beyond.
James Hitchen, General Manager EMA commented, “Two of our key strategic pillars for EMA are to drive best practice and the professionalization of our industry. Whilst we’re two different associations representing different sides of the equation, we all work in the events industry. There are many areas where we can work together to achieve our objectives, particularly in areas of best practice, training and development.”
Leigh Jagger, Interim CEO at EVCOM said, “With my ex-agency hat on, I have always felt passionately that in order to address the burning issues facing our industry, raise professional standards and drive best practice business models, we need to engage with all the parties involved. By working more closely with the EMA, we will be able to bring the corporate end user of our services deeper into our conversations, further professionalise our processes on both sides, and ensure our members can grasp a deeper understand of the needs of the EMA community. This can only help drive us forward as an industry and strengthen our collective voice still further.”
Over the course of 2020, the two associations will run a number of joint events, debate and create best practise guidelines on key industry topics, review the EVCOM code of conduct to make it a stamp of accreditation for the corporate planners and marketers as well as ensuring the respective memberships benefit from each other’s annual calendar of activities.
