We are delighted to announce that our NHS fundraiser film ‘These Are The Hands’ has been shortlisted for the Exhibition News Awards 2020 in the category: BEST COVID LOCKDOWN FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE! The film features BFI footage of medical professionals through history and contemporary images of hospital workers during Covid-19, set to the famous poem, ‘These Are The Hands’ by Michael Rosen, which was read by actor Iain Glen. All money raised from the film went directly to NHS Charities together.
This was a truly collaborative project, so we’d love to thank the BFI for sharing their archive footage with us, to Plastic Pictures for offering their editing expertise and especially to Tim Langford, EVCOM Board Member and originator of this project.
Claire says, “It means so much to us to see such an important and collaborative project recognised at the EN Awards. This was a campaign project born out of an incredibly difficult time that we are still living through, and its creation is testament to the creativity and resilience of everyone involved in making it! It’s message is a reminder that the NHS is there for us now, and has been there for us always.”
