By Kev Carey, Moving Image
The UK’s only ranking of brand and corporate film producers returns at a time when social, fiscal, and messaging uncertainties are climbing into the creative roost.

Produced by Moving Image, in partnership with EVCOM, the annual report ranks companies based on revenue, awards, peer recognition, and project volume — providing a clear benchmark for performance in a competitive industry.
While this year’s edition brings some of the stark difficulties felt by parts of the production community into focus, it also overwhelmingly illustrates how grit, growth, and the pursuit of global reach remain powerful antidotes to creative fear.
Since there’s no fun in spoiling all the surprises, here are the highlights to get your download fingers twitching.
Video holds firm in a tough year
2024 was challenging for many, with over half of the Top 50 producers reporting a drop in revenue. But there was a bright spot: video-specific income grew by 5.4% overall.
While total agency profits were down, video continued to prove its value — particularly for teams with a clear creative focus. The usual suspects of top-ranked producers like DRPG, RD Content and The Edge Picture Company proved that adaptability and specialism can still lead the pack. Many producers highlighted that while clients are tightening budgets, they’re still prioritising strong storytelling and creative clarity.
International work is growing fast
A staggering 43 of the Top 50 reported international clients last year, with export revenue jumping 33.5%. It’s a gobsmacking figure — especially given we’re only just emerging from the shadow of a Brexit splash whose waves are still rippling outward.
The global market is becoming essential to growth, not just a bonus. Companies like Mediazoo, Auspicious Group, and Fortemus Films all saw success in expanding their international reach — from the US to the Middle East and beyond.
Peer Polling: Recognition is rising — and widening
I am, and will remain, a producer at heart. Perhaps that’s why it’s been so affirming to watch the yearly expansion of our time-honoured inclusion in the Top 50 — a tradition that goes back to the days of the Televisual Corporate 50. Or maybe it’s simply because the numbers have more than doubled in the last two editions.
This year’s Peer Poll featured 26 different companies mentioned by fellow producers — up from just 11 two years ago — showing a growing sense of awareness and admiration across the industry. Meanwhile, Plastic Pictures topped the awards table with nine golds, closely followed by We Are Tilt, Bladonmore, and DRPG — a reminder that standout creative continues to drive recognition alongside commercial success.
Bigger isn’t always better
The 2025 rankings also show an interesting shift in momentum. While it’s expected that established giants will continue to ‘re-establish’ themselves each year — and dominate the top of the table in doing so — the real veins of insight gold lie in the smaller, specialist agencies that made notable climbs. Again, I am also a producer, so I like to follow the lesser-told stories.
In the production community, notable climbs are often a sign of agility, focus, and a clearly defined offer that can rival scale — especially in a market where flexibility and fast turnaround are in high demand. Many smaller teams are staying deliberately lean, giving them more space to experiment and build trust with clients who want close creative collaboration.
