I recently had the opportunity, once again, to judge the Event Photography Awards taking place at the HAC in Central London. As a photography enthusiast (looking at them, certainly not taking them – no good at that!), it is an annual event I love being part of.
The photography of an event is an essential part of ensuring that the client, the attendees and you, the event organiser, have a record of the event in all its glory. A good event photographer can bring the shine to your venue, the gloss to your branding, the razzamatazz to your entertainment and the sizzle to your catering. The Event Photography Awards showcase the best in the business with categories covering venues, conferences, weddings, consumer events, sport events, behind the scenes, festivals and more.
Capturing moments, atmosphere, emotion, noise, light and even smells in a single image is an amazing achievement and judging those achievements was a difficult but pleasurable task. Working in teams we were able to get through a vast selection of images to create what will be an fantastic exhibition at RIBA followed by the Awards Ceremony on the 5th June. As partners of the Event Photography Awards we are delighted to support a worthwhile and often under-represented community with the events industry. I’m looking forward to finding out if any of my personal favourites make it to the top spot!
