What led you to a career in the events industry?
My works in IPO roadshows led me to events and client servicing.
What was your first job?
I formed a small publishing company with friends and published one math exam mock test book. Was not very successful but we had fun!
What’s a mistake you made early on in your career and what did you learn from it?
There was a time I was taking on too much and pushing people around me the same way – but I found this will cause more problems than it solves. Working as a team and understand needs are far more important in accomplishing a task efficiently.
What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re proud of?
Being one of the first Chinese speaking IPO Roadshow Project Managers in the industry and completing multiple major IPO international roadshows at the time.
What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?
I’ve got two! Cebu and Switzerland.
If you could only snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
I would be a multi-language specialist.
What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Deep fried insects in Thailand!
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Writer.
What advice would give to your youngest self?
Travel more and get to know the world better.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Trust yourself and be confident – from a friend in the same industry recently.
Welcome to the Broadsword team, Jase!
