Project Aims

The UK banking industry faces significant challenges, and the Group’s 88,000 FTE employees can feel at the wrong end of rapid change, ever-rising workloads and public disapproval. It can make the workplace difficult, with rising reports of friction, sickness and challenges to staff retention.

To help counter this problem, Lloyds Banking Group’s Diversity and Inclusion team commissioned Take A Second, a mandatory video-led elearning programme for every employee in the Group with a simple aim: be more mindful of other people’s feelings, no matter how much pressure you’re under, and strive to work together, better.

Measures of Impact and Effectiveness

The course rollout began in Autumn 2014 but the scale and complexity of Lloyds Banking Group’s workforce means reaching all 88,000 FTE employees is a lengthy process. The course is mandatory for all employees. Feedback so far has been overwhelming. Initial qualitative feedback was unanimous in its praise.
