Megan McRitchie is a Scottish director with a focus on amplifying underrepresented voices and bringing working-class stories to the forefront. She is a recent graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a BA Filmmaking. Her unique storytelling approach seamlessly blends grounded realism with introspective, dream-like scenarios, allowing audiences to explore their innermost thoughts. Through her films, Megan delves deeply into the complexities of human connection, illuminating the intricate bonds that tie us together. Her narratives often revolve around the quest for belonging, capturing the nuanced journey of finding one’s place in the world and fitting in. Megan’s most recent film ‘Échappé’ is currently completing its film festival run and is also available to watch on STV Player. Megan hopes to create work across fiction, music videos and documentary in the future, as well as, begin a career in film festival programming and film distribution.
