Gavin Buxton Knight‘s film announces that Zimbabwe is open to business
A recent Zimbabwe Government’s presentation opened with this film. They wanted to demonstrate that Zimbabwe is open for business & open for tourism. The dark days of the previous leadership in Zimbabwe under President Mugabe are long gone. We had less than two weeks to pull this film together. Once my script was approved, we sourced a local voiceover artist in Harare & we sourced key footage from a local cameraman who also worked on Clarkson’s last Grand Tour which was filmed in Zimbabwe earlier this year.
The film was commissioned by the Government of Zimbabwe because on 17th August they hosted the 44th SADC Summit in Harare. The SADC (Southern African Development Community) is attended by the Heads of State & Heads of Government of 16 different countries including South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Tanzania & others. The theme of this year’s summit was, “Promoting Innovation to unlock opportunities for sustained economic growth and development towards an Industrialised SADC’’. The aim of the SADC is to further their development goals through cooperation between all 16 member countries.

Broadsword‘s Innovation Open House
Broadsword deliver a wide range of professional services events ranging from investment forums to banking conferences. For this innovation showcase for Moody’s Analytics, they headed to the global epicentre of finance: the World Trade Centre in New York. An innovation showcase spotlights key technologies and insights driving the firm to investors and employees. Using the event identity, we transformed the usual office space into an attendee journey that featured a theatre for senior leader discussions and broadcast for a virtual audience, as well as a range of demonstration and exhibition areas in the form of innovation pods to spotlight new solutions Moody’s were brining to their customers,
Overall the event was ‘a resounding success’, with a turnout over the expected numbers and extremely positive internal feedback that reinforced the objectives of the event.

Reels in Motion‘s animation outline fraud prevention techniques
Reels in Motion partnered with Synectics Solutions, a leading software company that provides intelligence solutions to combat fraud in the financial sector, to create a video showcasing their products and highlighting how they are responding to evolving risks. Synectics Solutions wanted a video demonstrating how their software continually adapts to combat the rapid advancements and techniques used by fraudsters, emphasising how they stay ahead of the curve in financial and cybercrime.
We crafted a dynamic 3-minute animated film that outlined the timeline and development of fraud prevention techniques in relation to their products. With a futuristic and atmospheric feel, the video took viewers into the cybercrime world, accompanied by a powerful music track.
Synectics Solutions were thrilled with the result. We not only showcased the strength of their products and simplified their complex messaging for a broader audience, but we also made the intricate history of fraud prevention engaging and easy to understand.
Casual create an ongoing global EVP campaign for Standard Chartered Bank
Casual and Symphony Talent partnered to create an ongoing global EVP campaign for Standard Chartered Bank. Working with a combination of Casual and local crews, over 100 interviews were conducted in the UK, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The Bank wanted to create a suite of films that gave an authentic insight into life at Standard Chartered, that were fun, fast paced, and moved away from the traditional corporate image of a global bank.
Casual and Symphony Talent worked together to create a strong visual identity for the films, which will span a suite of content that consists of over 25 unique deliverables celebrating Standard Chartered values, diverse workforce, and global footprint. The wider suite of content will focus on recruitment in specific growing markets and for particular job roles.
Alongside attracting new talent and giving potential applicants a glimpse into life at Standard Chartered Bank, the films have created a sense of pride for those who took part and the wider workforce.
The films will continue to be released throughout 2024 and 2025 across Standard Chartered careers sites and socials.
Kaptcha help Legal & General launch their Retirementor’s scheme
When Legal & General launched their Retirementor’s scheme, they wanted to make their later life mortgage products more relatable. They needed to show how these financial tools could impact real people.
That’s where Kaptcha stepped in. We developed a series of stories focussing on Legal & General customers. One was about John and June, a couple who used their Lifetime Mortgage to maintain their lifestyle and plan for future travels.
Rather than just talking about financial benefits, we captured their everyday lives—playing tennis, spending time with family. These moments showed how the product allowed them to live fully in retirement, retaining their home and independence.
Through these films, we humanized the product, demonstrating how Legal & General isn’t just providing financial services—they’re helping people enjoy their later years with peace of mind.
Pure Communications Groups manage a strategic conference and charity gala dinner
Pure Communications Group had the privilege of managing a strategic conference and charity gala dinner for a major player in the finance industry. The event, held in Birmingham for 500 delegates, was designed to launch the company’s new business strategy and working pillars. One of the key challenges was maintaining engagement throughout a content-heavy program. The team tackled this by integrating interactive elements like online polling and Q&A sessions to ensure the audience stayed actively involved.
In addition to managing the logistics, Pure also transformed the venue, creating a versatile space that transitioned from a main plenary to breakouts and, finally, into a sophisticated gala dinner. The team handled everything from venue sourcing and content creation (including video production and scriptwriting) to full production and AV support. They also managed the gala dinner, which included venue styling, catering, and executing silent and live auctions.
The conference was a major success, highlighting how creative approaches and meticulous planning can elevate a financial industry event, making it engaging and impactful for attendees while addressing strategic business objectives.
Thank you to all of our members for contributing their work this month!
