MILO KAJI-HAUSA
I’m a creative writer and I work across mediums all the way from playwriting and poetry, to essays, personal and academic alike. While somewhat indescribable, my North Star is definitely rooted in reshaping the world to be more equitable especially drawing from my experience of migration. I’m always hoping to bring an intersectional global perspective to all projects I engage with.
Above all else I’m intrigued by questions of power, it’s varied forms and uses
and the potential of powerful language to reshape the world we live in. Social media is incredibly exciting to me for this reason, despite its flaws, it represents a golden opportunity to democratise platforms/reach and to propel messages like never before. Roles requiring research and/or analytical thinking, especially with media based projects that are boundary pushing are the most attractive to me. Particularly if they are involving or serving communities typically set aside or challenging mainstream concepts/broadening our discourses.
I was shortlisted for the 2023 Orwell Youth Prize in Political Writing and for the 2022 RA Butler Prize in political writing. I’m the proud 2023 winner of the Warwick Writing Wrongs Political Writing Prize. With my Google Digital Marketing certificate, I’ve helped on video-based socials in the charity sector. I’m currently building a copywriting portfolio.
