The EVCOM Board is made up a voluntary group of leaders in the corporate film and events industry. They steer and shape EVCOM’s offering, ensuring that the needs of the membership are heard and considered in everything we do. Our Board is presided over by a Chair, a position which is handed over to someone new every 1-2 years. We’d like thank the wonderful Julie Sander, previously Head of Production at responsible business agency Verity London, who has held the role for the last two years. We are excited to announce Sonal R Patel as our new Board Chair.
Sonal R Patel is the Group Head of Creative at Brunswick Group. She is also an award-winning Executive Producer and Partner at the firm.
As a former broadcast news journalist, Sonal has been writing, producing, and directing for over 20 years. Her expertise encompasses developing strategies and content for film campaigns and live events, producing corporate and investor films, and leading social first video campaigns. Beyond film, she now leads Brunswick Group’s Creative practice encompassing Design, Reporting, Film and Live.
Sonal advocates for creative storytelling in corporate communications and advises global clients at Board level on performance and executive visibility.
Sonal says, “I’m honoured to take on the role of Board Chair for EVCOM. I am looking forward to working with the Board to ensure we represent and champion our membership; broadening representation, celebrating outstanding creativity in corporate events and film, and shaping the discussion around the future of our industry. I’d also like to acknowledge the excellent work of outgoing Chair Julie Sander.”
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jules for the hard work, guidance and care that she has given EVCOM over the last two years, and we are glad to keep working with her as a Board member.
Julie says, “It has been an incredible opportunity to be chair of EVCOM for the last two years and I’d like to thank both Claire and Amelia for all of the hard work they put into making EVCOM an organisation that will see our industry into the future. It was a pleasure to be involved in bringing in the first shadow board to open things up to the voices of the next generation, and I’m delighted to see a new shadow board now taking up the challenge. I’ve seen EVCOM go from its hugely popular webinars during COVID to starting to bring back in-person events in its wake. EVCOM as an organisation has come through and a highlight for me was EVCOMference earlier this year. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our members about the insights they gained and the interesting people they heard from and spoke to. I’ll be staying on as a board member but have every confidence in handing over the Chair position to Sonal, who I know has some great ideas and will be an excellent Chairperson.”
It’s been a pleasure to work with Jules and we look forward to continuing the great work EVCOM does with Sonal at the helm.
