The Event Photography Awards celebrate the photographers who capture the most memorable moments in our lives. When an event is over we are left with only the memories and the photographs. Blending in whilst getting that perfect shot takes practice, stealth and intuition. It’s about catching real moments as they happen.
The Event Photography Awards are open to event photographers of all levels, and have seen entries from talented photographers around the world.
Categories include brand activations and corporate events, concerts and sporting events, trade shows and weddings! And this 2023 they introduced two new categories: Christmas Parties & Seasonal Events.
Our Executive Director Claire Fennelow was delighted to be asked to judge once again.
Claire says, “For the third year I had the pleasure of being part of the judging panel for the Event Photography Awards last week. As a fan of photography, this is one of my favourite events to judge. The last few years have been a solitary, virtual experience but this year we met at the HAC and worked in teams – a new experience for me. What I found fascinating was how just looking at an image through someone else’s eyes can bring a whole new perspective to the piece in front of you. We took it very seriously indeed. So seriously that we were practically the first to get started and very much the last to finish.
The categories range from ‘Behind the scenes’, Live Music, Corporate Events through to weddings. There was an additional Royal Events category this year for obvious reasons. An awful lot of gold on display in those images! Given the vast range of subject matter it is always hard to finally select your top 5 and leaving some lovely work out of the final cut is a difficult process but I’ll look forward to seeing how my selections look against the final decisions of the whole panel at the Awards Ceremony on the 5th June.”
