Global brand experience agency Cheerful Twentyfirst will establish carbon reporting as standard practice across all projects from April 2022. Alongside the sustainability solution for clients, the agency commits to becoming carbon neutral by the end of 2023 and achieving net zero by 2030.
Cheerful Twentyfirst’s client programme includes advance impact forecasting and actual emissions reporting, supported by sustainability consultancy to guide reduction, mitigation and offsetting. The approach has been developed to meet ESG priorities for the agency’s global client portfolio alongside increasing momentum behind sustainable event practice in the industry.
“We felt it was crucial to be an early adopter and to establish a formal structure and approach around emissions measurement, especially as environmental targets become an increasingly high priority for our clients”, says Steve Quah, CEO.
The programme has been met with enthusiasm by long-standing client partners including Vodafone and Clifford Chance and follows a series of solution trials in late 2021.
“We want to demystify the emissions impact of event and communications campaigns,” shared Manuela Cadarso, Head of Projects UK and the agency’s lead sustainability ambassador. “Our data-first approach has been designed to analyse and assess the environmental impact across each of our key agency solutions, including events, exhibitions, moving image and content.”
A founding member of sustainability network isla, Cheerful Twentyfirst are continuing to invest in ESG initiatives that support their mission to be a values-driven organisation. The agency also joined the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge for the events industry, launched at the recent COP26.
