Frequently Asked Questions

Q: WHEN IS THE 2017 SCREEN AWARDS ENTRY DEADLINE?

A: The call for entries deadline is 6pm on 2nd May 2017. Find out more about the Award categories.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER THE SCREEN AWARDS?

A: Rate for EVCOM Members – £150 + VAT per entry, per category.

Rate for Non-Members – £290 + VAT per entry, per category.

Q: HOW DO I ENTER THE EVCOM SCREEN AWARDS?

A: By submitting your entry online at our Awards Entry Platform.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY FOR AWARD ENTRIES?

A: All material will remain confidential to the judges. Unless stated otherwise by the entrant, material for award-winning entries will also be kept by EVCOM for use at EVCOM events, screenings and online channels.

Q: WHEN DOES THE JUDGING TAKE PLACE?

A: The judging takes place in May 2017.

Q: WHEN WILL THE SHORTLIST BE ANNOUNCED?

A: The 2017 shortlist will be announced on EVCOM website and to the press at the end of May 2017. 

Q: WHEN IS THE AWARDS celebration?

A: The 2017 EVCOM Screen Awards Winners Celebration will take place on Friday 23 June at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly.

Q: DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF EVCOM TO ENTER THE SCREEN AWARDS?

A: No anybody with a relevant film project which meets the criteria can enter. Members of EVCOM do receive a discount on their entries however, so, if you wish to apply for membership please contact Dave Comley our Membership Director.

Q: DO WE NEED TO SUBMIT A PAPER COPY OF OUR SUBMISSION?

A: No, the entry system is all online.

Q: CAN I ENTER THE SAME PROJECT INTO MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY?

A: Yes, projects may be entered into more than one category.

Q: what is the qualifying period for a project?

A: All projects submitted must have taken place between August 2015 and January 2017. For the full rules of entry click here.

Q: CAN I ATTACH SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND IF SO, HOW MANY?

A: Yes you may.  You can attach up to three files which can be Word documents, JPEG images, PDF documents or PowerPoint presentations.

Q: WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM FILE SIZE FOR MY SUBMISSION?

A: The easiest option is to paste a link from YouTube / Vimeo, this will avoid uploading issues.  If you prefer to upload a video we recommend you do not upload extremely large video files as judges may have difficulty in viewing them.

Q: WHAT IF MY SUBMISSION WON’T LOAD?

A: Any problems with uploading your entry or any other queries regarding your awards entry, please email Kasia Moleda or call 020 7287 1002.  The platform gets a lot of traffic just before the cut – off date so if you think you might need any admin support with your entry, submit early to avoid missing the deadline.

Q: WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I ENTER? HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS SUITABLE?

A: If you are not 100% sure which category your event fits then please submit it anyway with a note to that effect and we will review it. The judges have the right to move a project to a different category if they believe it is better suited elsewhere.  Or you can contact one of the team to discuss which category you should enter by calling 020 7287 1002.

Q: IF WE WIN, ARE WE ABLE TO RECEIVE MORE THAN ONE TROPHY?

A: Multiple trophies are able to be purchased and a form will be sent to you post ceremony.

Q: CAN I BE INVOLVED AS A JUDGE?

A: If you’d like to be a judge, email Kasia Moleda for consideration by the chair of judges.
