National Grid is re-wiring London and wants to inspire young people to consider an exciting role as an engineer. BMS created this personal account of life as a London Power Tunnels engineer by blending UGC, graphics, music and sound effects to create a contemporary video for a young audience.
BMS produced a series of creative video diaries that were shown online and at National Grid’s purpose built “education centre” where local schoolchildren can experience what it’s like working on the tunneling project underneath London to expand the power capacity of the capital.
MEASURES OF IMPACT AND EFFECTIVENESS
Feedback from young people and an uptake in the apprenticeship schemes to become a trainee engineer for National Grid are both important measures of the success of the videos. As well as a greater understanding of the work being carried out during the visits to the education centre.
