PROJECT AIMS

This film highlights a security issue within Tesco, where it’s estimated millions of pounds are lost each year through theft. This high-impact drama brings theft to life, making staff aware of the ways in which theft takes place and understanding that the culprits are not always the most obvious people.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

Shown to all 300,000 in-store Tesco staff, making them aware of the severity of the problem and empowering them to approach suspicious looking individuals with the β€˜offer of help’. The film will be used to kick-off a series of 20-minute in-store training sessions, helping managers bring the issue to life, whilst making staff aware of the key role that they can play in reducing unacceptable levels of incidents in store.

MEASURES OF IMPACT AND EFFECTIVENESS

Launched in January 2014, effectiveness will be measured by a noticeable decrease in theft. The film aims to elicit emotional responses (hinting at personal benefits to staff) and giving necessary tips to deal with suspects – creating a more alert and engaged workforce – the biggest proven deterrent to shoplifters.
