Today saw another two highly esteemed individuals inducted into the EVCOM Fellowship at the House of Lords.
The EVCOM Fellowship Lunch, in association with GROSVENORFILM, is the industry’s opportunity to celebrate the leading individuals in the communication world.
Both new EVCOM Fellows have had extraordinary careers. Founder of Lynne Franks PR, creator of British Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards and the SEED empowerment programme for women, Lynne Franks has a communication reach that stretches across the world.
Dale Parmenter has built a hugely successful full service agency, offering live event, digital and film communication business in drp, employing over 182 people and developing an immensely talented team through consistent investment in training. He was also instrumental in the creation of EVCOM from industry associations Eventia and IVCA.
They follow a long and illustrious list of EVCOM Fellows, including John Simpson CBE, Baroness Martha Lane Fox, Lord Attenborough CBE, Bob Geldof KBE, Sir Trevor MacDonald, Dame Anita Roddick, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Lord Michael Grade, Kevin Spacey and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
After leaving school at sixteen, Lynne worked as a secretary before joining ‘Petticoat’, the UK’s first young women’s weekly. At 21 she started Lynne Franks PR, which grew to become one of the world’s best-known PR agencies.
In 1992 Lynne became an international spokesperson and facilitator on the changes in today’s and tomorrow’s world. In 1994 she chaired the UK’s first women’s radio station, while more recently she has advised Tesco on women’s engagement and was on the advisory board of McDonalds.
She has continued to develop SEED, opening regular SEED Community Cafes for women and she has taken SEED into the rural villages of South Africa‘s Eastern Cape with charity ASAP as well as into the corporate boardroom with global business leaders Sodexo, Standard & Chartered and HSBC.
Dale Parmenter has been in the event and communication industry for 38 years. He left school with one goal to run his own business, after just 3 years the opportunity arose and Dale took it, operating at first from a small outbuilding at his parents’ home.
He is actively involved with key corporate clients such as Triumph, Sainsbury’s, EE, Lloyds Banking Group and more, he works at a senior level assisting in the development of communication strategies and creating presentation vehicles.
Dale is passionate about nurturing new talent and putting his people first. drp has appeared in the Sunday Times best 100 companies to work for list and has been awarded the IIP Gold standard. Last year the company celebrated its 35th anniversary, many activities took place to recognise the milestone, including taking part in 35 CSR challenges.
The 2016 EVCOM Fellowship Lunch in association with GROSVENORFILM was hosted by Lord Watson of Richmond CBE. The event brought together EVCOM members, leading professionals and invited guests from across the industry to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by these two distinguished communicators.
