We are a young, dynamic and service driven events agency, specialising in creating and producing bespoke event solutions globally. We are an award winning agency, most recently named Silver winner of the ‘Best Outdoor Event’ and Highly Commended for ‘Best Internal Engagement Event’ at the 2015 EVCOM Live Awards. Incorporated in 2005, we deliver 70+ events every year and consider ourselves to be ‘Corporate Creatives’.

The role:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team as Operations Director. You will oversee the company operations, leading and driving a team of 7 to deliver success on every project and meet all financial targets. You will have substantial experience at event delivery, having led on logistically complex projects in your previous roles. You will be responsible for the development of your team, ensuring that we outperform at all stages of the event cycle and consistently exceed client expectations. You will have experience of financial forecasting, resourcing and business strategy. Alongside the management of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing, maintaining and updating the company operating procedures. You will also be responsible for ensuring key supplier relationships are maintained and developed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible to the company owner for the Operations Team event revenue, to include financial forecasting

Financial forecasting for the Operations Team overheads; salaries, bonus, staff welfare and training requirements

Driving the Operations Team for sign off on all pitches to ensure monthly financial targets are met

Weekly reporting to the business owner on team performance

Weekly meetings with the Business Development Director to identify new leads, pitches to be converted and account plans

Working with the Business Development Director to allocate resource for all pitches, providing guidance and input on budgets / venue searches and company presentations

Resource forecasting for the event calendar, identifying peak periods and providing solutions to ensure project delivery is seamless and cost effective for the business

Management of a team of 7 pax from Senior Event Managers through to the Event Assistant.

Conducting 6 month and annual reviews with objectives set and measured so that employee development can be tracked

Responsible for the recruitment and training of all new team members. Maintaining and updating induction schedule so that it is aligned with the latest standard operating procedures (SOP)

Maintaining, developing and ensuring that the company SOP is adhered to by all team members

Management and review of the operations supply chain including maintaining and developing the company freelance resource

Senior point of contact for all key client accounts, alongside business owner

Attendance at key client meetings where required

Attendance at pitch meetings with business development director or business owner where required

Attendance at industry events to ensure that Pure has brand presence at select events

 

Your experience:

You are a pro-active, knowledgeable and confident individual who is passionate about leading a team who deliver live events.

Key requirements:

12+ years of planning events globally with experience of complex logistics and technical production led projects

 Proven track record of people management and team leadership

 Experience of leading and developing a team; from day to day management through to annual reviews

 Ability to resource a team both in the day to day and forecasting for the year

 Financial acumen; ability to forecast and lead a team to meet set targets

 Experience of reporting direct to the business owner

 Proven track record of working with business development to secure new clients

 Experience of key account management; leading a team to deliver consistent service excellence across multiple client relationships and projects

 Extensive industry knowledge both in the UK and abroad

 Strong supplier network, with strong relationships with key industry providers

 Experience of maintaining and developing an SOP

 You will have gained a substantial amount of your experience through working at event agencies

 Excellent communication skills

 

Day to day:

You will be based at our offices in Fulham, London, with occasional travel in the UK & Europe as required
